Arrive
Corfu is known as “the greenest island” for a reason, and this event showcases that at its best. The festival is a nine-day event showcasing a diverse array of gardens, from the historic to the recently designed, from wild or productive to meticulously curated, and from large estates to small courtyards. Explore
Included are large historic estate gardens, modern gardens designed with ecology and water-wise principles in mind, productive farms, manicured gardens, and natural gardens. A number of walks, workshops, and tastings are held throughout, and gardens are scheduled by area across the island to allow as many as possible to be visited in a single day. Corfu Garden Festival.

In the midst of this Festival week we can hike through olive groves, coastal paths, and traditional villages like Pelekas and Sinarades, or Parc Mon-Repos in the mild spring temperatures. The rest of the time can be spent enjoying your stunning accomodations, chatting over drinks—while you’re at your most relaxed, your most you, we’ll set aside time for a playful photoshoot to carry your memories with you.
What 10 days looks like in Corfu with us
Day 1: Arrival
Kalós írthes!
Welcome to Greece! We can fly in to Corfu via Athens (ATH)—this is the most popular routing and honestly not a bad one. You fly JFK → ATH (roughly 10–11 hours), then ATH → CFU (1 hour 5 min). The Athens airport is large, modern, and efficient for connections. If you have a few hours' layover, you could even venture into the city. OR Spend the night there on your way their or a few days on your return trip
OR via a European hub—British Airways via London Heathrow, Lufthansa via Frankfurt or Munich, Swiss via Zürich, Iberia via Madrid, and Air France/Delta via Paris all connect JFK to CFU with one stop.
Landing at CFU is genuinely thrilling—the approach takes you low over the sea, giving passengers spectacular aerial views of the monastery islet of Pontikonisi and the lagoon below. We will arrange transportation to our accommodations on the NE side of island.
Day 2: First day of the Corfu Garden Festival
After breakfast we can rest, explore the old port city food markets or spend our day in one of the first festival gardens. In late April specifically, most of the blooming flowers can be admired, including poppies, daffodils, irises, roses, clematis, and marigolds. On Mount Pantokrator, anemones, borage, crocuses, and gladioli bloom, and orchid—of which there are 36 different local species—generally bloom in April and May.
Day 3: Photography Session with Joy **
Our first photography session, we’ll meet in the morning to plan the day with the Festival events. I will make it fun and cruisy as we discover which activities are right up your alley, so we can catch you in your element. We’ll keep it light and fun as I document your adventure, and make this a lovely fun, liberating experience to remember!
Day 4: Garden Festival or Parc Mon-Repos
Parc Mon-Repos has plenty to offer on the garden front itself, and I definitely recommend it for the history buffs. Not only does it boast the Museum of Palaiopolis, but also the ruins of two ancient temples, all highlighted by the backdrop of the Ionian Sea.
Day 5: Photography Day with Joy
Corfu in late April is one of the Mediterranean's great secret pleasures — lush, quiet, culturally rich, and just starting to wake up for the season. It's everything the summer crowds arrive too late to catch and we will! On our second day of capturing you in a new location. We’ll bring the fun and expertise, you bring an openness to trying something new! l
Days 6 to 8: Garden Festival
Continue photo shoots at our leisure. Perhaps hiking or horse riding through the Ropa Valley, with its olive groves, and woodland paths which is available from early spring. There are also workshops which range from herbal walks and hikes to ceramic classes.
Day 9: Garden Festival or leisure
Another chance to visit the main town, explore the west coast, or visit the Olive or Soap museums. We could plan a cooking class or food experience—an olive oil tasting, a visit to traditional villages, or a meal featuring Corfiot cuisine (sofrito, pastitsada, bourdeto)—ideal spring pursuits when tavernas are newly open for the season and unhurried.
Day 10 : Departure day for home
This morning, we say goodbye to Corfu. Private transport will carry you to the airport, newly refreshed and invigorated from our days of exploration and experimentation. Perhaps we’ll meet again at the Garden Festival next year!

Insect repellent—just in case, you don’t want to be itching in the middle of your photo!
Moderate sun protection—while April is solidly in the middle of spring, a bright sunny day can leave you with a bit more red in the face than you want captured in photos.
If you tend to allergies in the spring, don’t forget your allergy medication!
Light-weight hiking shoes—Corfu is very hilly, and you want to be prepared!
Favorite outfits for photos—make sure you bring at least one fancy outfit. You will have the opportunity to use it.
It gets windy and we might get rain, so don’t forget a light rain jacket or windbreaker!
For the garden tours, think “smart, fun, casual” attire.
Bathing suit—cold water swimming is very popular. If you’d like to join in on this popular pastime, don’t forget to bring your suits!
